(August 19. 2025) Lake Texoma, TX—Ken Scribner, better known in the Centurion World Series of Wake Surfing community as “Cowboy Ken” and serving as Centurion & Supreme Boats Team Manager, hosted a special Salute to Service (S2S) event on Lake Texoma on Friday, August 15, 2025. The event treated two military veterans to a well-deserved day of rest, relaxation, and wake surfing.
The crew spent the day on board customer David Pabin’s 2025 Centurion Ri265. David first connected with Ken last summer during a Centurion boat demo, where Ken, his wife, and son introduced the Pabin family to the Centurion experience and shared the mission behind S2S events. Inspired by the cause, David reached out last winter to see if an event could be brought to their lake, sparking the plan that made this day on the water possible.
Hosting Salute to Service events and honoring those who serve our country and communities is one of our favorite ways to Wake Waves of positivity as a company. We are truly privileged to honor the service and sacrifice of our military and first responders, and it’s especially meaningful when customers like the Pabin family choose to join us in this initiative.
Planning began with reaching out to local heroes. As a benefits representative, Jeff partners with an HVAC contractor known for employing retired military veterans. While six of the eight veterans originally scheduled were unable to attend due to a last-minute emergency at work, the event still carried on with energy and excitement that set the tone for the day.
“Two or 20 it doesn’t matter to me. Nothing warms my heart and soul more than teaching our nations heroes to surf. The feeling I get from seeing the smile on their faces when they first drop the rope is unexplainable,” says Ken.
Behind the wheel, “Cowboy Ken” guided the boat while his son, Jarrett Scribner, former pro wake surfer, helped coach the heroes as they carved up Centurion’s world-class wave. The veterans included an Army veteran who served in Iraq and a Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Midway.
“It’s always an honor to pass the handle to our service men and women. Being able to give back to them is a great thing, and I’m glad to be a part of it,” Jarrett Scribner shared.
Even in the thick of the southern heat, this small but mighty crew made the most of their time on the water, creating memories that perfectly captured the heart and purpose of Centurion’s Salute to Service.
